Murphy's original buy recommendation on IFMX was in his 12/6/96 (#377) newsletter, at a price of 23 3/4, with a 12-month price target of 40.

The recommendation was made just a few days after the launch of Universal Server. Funny, he actually recommended taking only half a position until quarterly results came out, in case revenues were impacted by customers delaying purchase until Universal Server came out!

Re: Murphy's recommendation of stocks

In the past he heavily relied on the Psychic Friends Network, however over the past year the Psychic Friends Network lost its top notch psyihics to brokerage houses such as Goldman Sachs, Prudentials, Morgan Stanley, etc. where they now work as these firms' top notch stock analysts. Therefore this is the main reason for Murphy's picks not performing so well for the past year (because his friends at the Psychic Friends Network no longer can talk to him directly even if they wanted to due to their brokerage houses confidentiality rules!).

And with Psychic Friends Network's announcement of last Friday that they are out of business for good, I ,for one, can not possibly ever trust anything Murphy recommends!!
