It was indeed huge, but we were fortunately unaffected. A wiggle here and there, and perhaps things would have been different. As the crow flies, it was I suppose no more than two to two and a half miles away.

The videos are hair-raising. We got all the usual warnings via cell phone, but it was as quiet as a church where I was, not a sign of anything amiss.

Naturally, it hit a poor neighborhood. Why does that seem to be the rule? I guess because there are more poor neighborhoods than wealthy ones. That's cold comfort for the stricken.
