Richard thanks. So certainly we have seen some layoffs but not so far anything for the big boys right? I know NVLS as of the last c.call had no such news of layoffs.

Regarding the price I was aware of the fact that the low was in July. My point however was that it is easy to look backward and say I should have bought then. The risks were quite great then (not so much for the l/t for AMAT but for the s/ and i/ term. My point was that the situation began to look much better as we got into the early fall for the semi-equip industry and I think you could have bought AMAT for somewhere between 12 and 15 for several months or so to enjoy a subsequent double/triple/quadruple over the next few quarters if you bailed a few months ago. (I added to my AMAT position in the fall of that year at 14.)

Thanks also for reminding me of that famous sentence. I remember the gap up that November. That was fun. However I don't think we'll be seeing such a sentence in this q's announcement. Heck first things have to be slowing down before you can say things are turning up!

Very interesting story going on here...
