It isn't the same. Elk Hill was own by the Us government and was part of the strategic reserve program institute after the oil embargoes of the 70's. That has infrastucture to it already. Apples and oranges. AIPN has not drill one well nor tested one well, which is the final arbiter.

You know, Pennzoil, big company that makes money; they are int he Caspian region. They had a lease that siesmic showed to contain a potential of 1+ billion barrels of oil. It was an oil play. First well was.....................gas and the quanity isn't known. Read that as a major disappointment. It was also done with 3-d seismic and not 2-D that AIPN is doinig. Facts, published facts that aren't the "Permabull Rumour Du Jour." Still and all, until AIPN drill that first well, you just never know.

Further, their are plenty of producing regions in the US that have H2S. Luling TX is a prime example. It's not a total loss or unproducible. It will add to the cost however.
