I personally believe the company would use the buy-back as a last ditch..

effect to support the stock during these trying times. I'd guess they buy back ONLY at $15 or below. Total guess of course.

Aloha

I'm looking at a Computer City ad in the Sunday paper and....

THE PRICES ARE INCREDIBLE!!

I can get a WinGen 233MHz 6x6, 32SDRAM, 56K modem, 20x CD drive, Lexmark 1000 color printer, Proview 14" monitor for ($$$ 999)!!!!

Or...

The came computer with an Intel 233Mhz chip from IBM with IBM monitor and printer for $1399!

Or...

An HP 200MHz computer with the usual WITHOUT a monitor for $799!

THE PRICES ARE FALLING FASTER THAN I THOUGHT!!!

A FULL SYSTEM FROM IBM FOR $1399!

How are these guys going to make money??

What's next??

HOW SMALL? HOW FAST?? HOW MANY???

Memory prices down a little on Friday.... hmmmmmm....

Will people ever say enough is enough or will SPEAK RECOGNITION be the next reason to buy a 600Mhz machine???

Hmmmmmm...... How much time will that save??

I heard from other thread that there are many restrictions for stock buyback. I do not remember exactly but if my memory serves, the amount of buyback in a day can not exceed 20% of that day's volume, and the buy have to be made on a down tick. There is probably other restrictions. All in a word, the buyback has more psychological effect for upside than its physical effect. Physically, it only put support at downside but not has much effect to make a stock fly. Any knowledgeable person please correct me if I am wrong. Of course, shorters may intend to cover with buyback news since the downside will be very limited with buyback support. In the past week I think short position is down already.

I believe CYMI is going down in short term, based on technical reason and SFAM news. I plan to get back in at lower level. AMAT news will also has effect on it, good or bad, by Wednesday.
