Let me make sure I got this right:

&#147It has topped out with its target consumers--tech-heads, computer junkies, and perverts.&#148

If I understand correctly, the entire strategic planning, done by this company's collective marketing, engineering, and administrative staffs, rests on the presumption that Zip is a mass-market consumable (hence committing zillions of dollars for Vogue magazine ads and Super Bowl commercials). But one single audio engineer in New York figured out that they've got it all wrong&#151it's really just a limited specialty item.

That's incredible! I really do wish that audio guy was running this company&#151it would sure bring up the bottom line.

Rocky,

Since you just mentioned "Roland" in yet another IOM bash (this
despite holding a long position on the stock), you might note
that Roland has decided to make the Zip the standard disk for
its recording studio systems. If you are so negative on this
stock Rocky, why don't you take a fat short position on IOM and
come back in six months and we will talk about this company.

>>There already IS a standard. It's called CD-Rom.<<

CD-ROM is not writable. People need writable removable storage.

CD-R will never be mainstream.

Rockhead, As a Junk-headed pervert, it seems you might combine
all the best features of the target customer to which you refer.

<< Zip will not replace the floppy. It has topped out with its
target customers-- tech-heads, computer junkies, and perverts.>>
