The Romanoffs were the quintessential imperialists. Check out the gifts they liked to pass around - Faberge wonders of intricate jeweled ornaments. Seems like Russia is starting to operate that way again. Rather opaque to me. I think the guys doing The Duran podcasts are peace-niks. The Greek tie-in with Ukraine and Russia has to do with shared history - orthodox religion, cyrillic alphabet. It was eye-opening to see how far back that double headed eagle symbol goes. 13th century B.C. Late Bronze age.
