Looks like I was wrong... I thought the news from Intel would help the Nasdaq..

They call this consolidation (or profit taking).

Here's some news on DRAM..

HITACHI (Friday's close: 83-7/16) said that TEXAS INSTRUMENTS(Friday's close: 53-7/8) would make an announcement about an existing joint venture between the two firms. A spokesman for Hitachi would not reveal further details and declined to commenton a newspaper report that Hitachi and TI have agreed to dissolve a U.S. semiconductor venture around March this year. The NihonKeizai Shimbun reported in its evening edition on Monday thatHitachi and TI will liquidate the
loss-making chip venture and as a result, Hitachi will incur an extraordinary loss of 35 billionyen in the year to March 1998. (Reuters 03:59 AM ET 02/09/98)
