and yet they are world leaders in solar energy hands down... (others are catching up though) are working on ways to produce rice from brackish water.. successfully it appears...

yes.. the drug of the negative side capitalism is rampant... especially after years of the Bamboo Curtain ? again the curse of the Nouveau Riche ?

not unexpected that for a time they will behave as happy rutting pigs neh ? Look to the Us for excess no ? US restaurant portions would feed two average Canucks.. or one obese yank ?... look att he restaurant waste problem in US/Canada... sad

interesting that here on SI Lib or Con.. folks are actually not mostly typical in my experience ... a good thing

BTW.. I did not know that about Chicago sewage diversion.. .. Thank you :)

EDIT.. I recall second visit to China.. so many FAT one sons... eating at McDonalds for outrageous prices when 5 loonies bought a terrific traditional meal with a beer !!!

I still think it is a nouveau riche thing.. gauging from my upbringing ..u starting out in Montreal's Chinese slums

My family had a biz in Chinatown... was eventually sold to McCain foods

My dad left all to mom.. I do not need it.. My kids do not realise how well off they will be :)
