Beachbumm:

The thing that I heard about the Indonesian situation is precisely that, in think it was in Barron's, there is a possibility of Chinese intervention if any harm comes to the Chinese in Indonesia.

That would not be a good thing for everyone involved and I hope people there do not lose their heads over this.

Then again I was under the impression that the Indonesians are thus far agreeing to the IMF "rules of conduct". Yet they have problems there - DEBT DEBT and more DEBT...

---

About the Chinese devaluing I don't see why they wouldn't at some stage but these macroeconomic things I will admit are way way over my head. (That's why I don't invest in bonds...)

---

About Japan: Maybe the silver lining in the Asian Crisis will be Japan realizing that now that they can't sell to anyone (in Asia) and since they can't sell to anyone at home (the Japanese malaise of the last few years), maybe they'll finally get their act together and put their house in order. If they do let the rally begin...

---

Looks like a lot of people are beginning to think the way we've got this scripted...

Now if only I knew if that's a good thing or a bad thing!
