Our entire lives we kept hearing in thousands of different ways that the show must go on. It’s very sad to think that we may be in the last episode of the last season. And there isn’t much we can do about it. Nothing to be done, in fact.

About Iran - I think the country that used to be called the graveyard of Roman generals is once again in an imperialistic mode. They want to be a superpower. Not just regional, but global. They may get their wish. Of course, once Shia Iran gets nukes, so will a number of Sunni countries. They won’t let the Shia - whom they despise - to become the last believer standing.

The new imperial Iran will have a lot on their plate - as they look for ways to show to their Sunni anti-brethren — who is smarter and stronger and has better nukes - and has more leverage in international affairs.

Iran is a big country with some 70 million population. They do not speak in a single voice - that would be impossible. I’m sure there are many who would want to drop on Israel the very first two bombs they get their hands on - but I suspect the majority may have different priorities. They’d be concerned that whatever is left of their country after the exchange would find themselves subject to tender mercies of the Sunnis. Instead of winning the struggle that has been going on since the death of the Prophet - they would be forfeiting - most of them, by dying - and the remainder - by being destined to become oppressed and persecuted.

So…. I don’t place much faith in them. I just think the 2 bomb scenario is hugely unlikely to transpire.

Stunningly, the only person who ever “agreed” with me was… Ayatollah Khamenei. Some years after I came up with this insight, he published a book where he was saying, essentially, the same things — that they don’t HAVE to use the bomb. Simply by having it as a credible threat, like the sword of Damocles… they would make sure that Israel does not thrive.

All those new weapons are fantastically powerful - and we, humans, tend to be mostly brainwashed and not very smart. We don’t even always bother to give a moment's thought on which side the bread is buttered - and on which side we’re all dead.
