And here we are tonight, again dodging bad weather. As if we don’t get our share in August and September

Gold, gold, and more gold.

The business in Ukraine I wager will drag on, like COVID, causing all kinds of unanticipated wiggles.

Cooked the most delicious hamburgers tonight. Into patties of grass-fed beef, I inserted a dollop of extraordinarily good blue cheese (Point Reyes), then cooked at super-hot heat so that the cheese melted but did not escape the interior, which was juicy, with the patty’s exterior well-seared, nearly but not quite burned. Pre-seasoned the meat with a bit of habanero sauce so that at the end there existed a glorious combination of heat, smoke, juiciness, melted blue cheese, etc. Accompanied the feast with my signature guacamole, a nice salad, and a good strong Cabernet. Mama Mia!! Try it someday, not complex, not fancy, but an easy super-delicious combination of flavors.

Which is to say that I’m feeling indulgent. Why not? Tomorrow we may die. I’m not Dionysian by nature but given my increasing sense of upcoming chaos, it makes a lot of sense to simply let go every now and then.
