BASF/BASFY. I agree: the outlook is muddy.

BASFY big and diverse. Eventually things will get better for the company. But when? The Russian war changes so much. I ask myself, why hold BASFY now when the outlook for fertilizers, metals, etc. seems so much better, and they trade at under 5x times. Result: I've closed my small BASFY at loss and will deploy funds elsewhere.

Thanks for your opinion on these Germany-based stocks.

RE: Basf Se ADR (BASFY)

Have you looked at this one lately?

BASF is the world's leading chemical company: The Chemical Company. Its portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and agricultural products to oil and gas. As a reliable partner BASF creates chemistry to help its customers in virtually all industries to be more successful. With its high-value products and intelligent solutions, BASF plays an important role in finding answers to global challenges such as climate protection, energy efficiency, nutrition and mobility.
From another thread:
BASF relocated their natural gas dependent chemical process plants from Ludwigschafen to two locations in Louisiana with just about the cheapest natural gas in the world.

Dismantled the plants, shipped them, reassembled them and put them back into production.
Perhaps that was one of the capital investments they made.

FCF still negative but company has low debt compared to other domestic (US) competitors. EBITDA looks good. Forward PE 12.5x; selling close to BV, and not too much debt w/ debt/equity = 0.55x $41.5 Billion Market Cap.

This industry has been cyclical and can be a challenge to create predictable growing revenues in this sector.
