Re: Compaq visited with Orckit week before last in Israel

It has been reported elsewhere (see Orckit thread) that Compaq visited with Orckit week before last in Israel-assume that is what you are hinting at?

Geof,

Almost, I think you missed the main point? Remember I said a PAIR of companies...........

I attended the Money Show at Disney's Coronodo Resort last FRI & Sat. During the Technology Luncheon one of the panel mentioned Compaq buying ORCKIT. Later in the day after a Technology Workshop, by Michael Murphy. Michael (California Technology Stock Letter) stood outside the Workshop Hall and fielded questions for about an hour. This was generous of him, as most speakers might devote two minutes at best. Since he was on the Tech Luncheon panel, I asked what he thought of a buyout of ORCKIT by Compaq, he said Compaq, had looked at 10 DSL'ers and even went to Israel to take a look a Orckit, but he seemed to think PAIR would be Compaq's pick.

You can sure pick up some good stuff listening to Murphy for an hour of fielding questions, wish I had brought my tape recorder :(, though his Bio-Tech & Technology Workshops were very good also.
