DSC Enhances Its INfusion(TM) IS-41 HLR to Support IS-53A Standard Carriers Can Deliver Additional Wireless Intelligent Network Services With DSC's Advanced IN Systems DALLAS, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- DSC Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: DIGI) announced today that its INfusion(TM) IS-41 Home Location Register (HLR) is now available to support the entire wireless services feature set established by the IS-53A (TIA/EIA/IS-664) standard. By deploying these features on DSC's intelligent network (IN) platform, wireless carriers will be able to cost-effectively differentiate their networks from the competition, expand their service offerings and attract new customers. The IS-53A standard allows for implementation of an extensive portfolio of services, such as mobile access hunting (a sequential "Find Me" service for wireless subscribers), flexible alerting, calling number identification presentation/restriction and message waiting notification. The complete set of IS-53A services and more can be cost-effectively delivered on one standard- compliant IN platform: DSC's INfusion SCP with IS-41 HLR. "Wireless carriers are finding it essential to offer a multitude of services in order to grow and retain their subscriber base," said DSC's Bruce Hill, vice president, IN Division. "DSC's INfusion HLR offers an efficient way for wireless operators to expand their service portfolios, while keeping network expenditures low. Carriers can select from a long list of service options, all enabled by the INfusion HLR's support of the entire IS-53A standard." Wireless service providers can choose to implement these new IS-53A services as permanent features available to all subscribers, or new services can be activated and deactivated on an individual subscriber basis as options. DSC's INfusion IS-41 HLR is flexibly modified to support either level of deployment.
