there is no evidence the sales force was distracted. as usual for
Sales anywhere, they focus on where the rewards are and I can't
believe they had nc sales quota assigned to them.

I know I sound like a broken record on this thread, but I still think
many of the critiques that appear here are easy claims to toss off
that should be tested via more concrete questions (like whether the
Sales force was selling NCs, which would be the only substantial
way they could be distracted and would contrast with the sales
models oracle has described). So what are the consequences of my
argument against these critiques: I think the company is not so
far off track that it has to make a huge change in direction "back
to the mainstream", that the existence of tv commercials for nc's
as a concept is not evidence the company has lost its mind, and
that the stock increase is sensible. Too bad I feared Asian flu
so much I missed most of the runup!

i wouldnt worry Oracle 8 wasnt that great anyway. Didnt Jerry Held the head of database development get shown the door a couple months ago?
