When you're not too emotional, I enjoy your posts... I was in the Gobi desert a few years ago with a group of professors (2 Russian, 2 Slovakian and 1 Czech), about 10 a.m. we pulled into a gas station that was literally in the middle of nowhere and a group of German tourists got in front of us, they sort of cut us off. One of the professors had to be held down by his Russian professor wife and several of the professors were shouting German swear words at them. It did not help for breakfast we had Czech sausage, black coffee and several shots of Mongolian vodka... Old animosities run deep.
