Joe, I can't go with Dataquests forecast. of course they proved right the last 2 years, but then again they were calling for a turn around in 1998 back then. How can they think what they say will happen, when by the end of 1999 we should have 1000 mhz cpu's, by then we will need at least 64 bit memory simms and who knows what size hard drives and back up media. 3D Video Cards are getting pretty fast, I bought one last year and I am already drooling at today's cards, that's the kind of speed improvements there are.

An epxlanation is that the 1000 mhz cpu isn't going to be available by the expected date, but i really think we could see it even earlier and pass 1000mhz by then even.

I think the industry leaders should be conservative and make Asia a big issue and keep prices down for a bit longer so we can accumulate more shares. I think them making bearish comments is that much better for us.

If AMAT does paint a rosey picture now, that means things are further along then even I thought and we should have some great ride.
