Derek,CPQ article. I guess we know now why some of those analysts are just that, analysts, and not the CEO of a company on the move.

The thing standing out in this article is the fact that one of them said: CPQ was in a rush to reinvent itself. Now, we all know that the talk between CPQ and DEC has been going on since 1995. I would not exactly call this "rushing".

And it's also surprising how all those other CEO's are so worried that CPQ may have gotten themselves in trouble with what THEY call "similar" companies. And we also know that DEC's purchase will not be nearly the 9+ billion purchase when everything is considered what comes with it.

And as far as the head of Tandem and DEC's Palmer is concerned, I am not so sure how long Palmer will be around. I have been listening to Palmer's discussions on that merger and it does not sound like he will be around forever. He seems to be hedging when asked if he will be committed to the future of their combined companies. He keeps saying that he will definitely be around until the house is in order or words to that effect.

Anyway, I like the merger so far, but then of course I am not an analyst or a CEO. gg.
