this is great news for all of us tech lovers that hold positions in cos. like intc, amd, amat, cpq, dell. i have a feeling that tomorrow will not be a good day however. amat's earnings announcement and especially the co.'s message is being heralded as a very important director for this sector over the next few weeks. with nasdaq down today, the japanese announcement and techs getting slammed while europe and asia managed to pull off gains, i am concerned about tomorrow's message from amat. all of this imo.

also, there is a great news/editorial column called The Main Street Journal at youdecide.com. it is essentially a poll and newsletter based on public opinion written by the on-line public. i mention this only because they also ask what people would like to discuss the following week, and this week, they have suggested the on-line public's perception of the stock market and its direction. if enough people ask for that topic, i believe that the writers (who are very good!) will write on the subject. i know that most of you like myself participate on several threads and it's hard to determine what your individual bullishness/bearishness is and which of the stocks that you follow are your favorites. stop by the site and vote for the above topic - hopefully, i'll see your comments (and your stock picks) when the story gets published.

AOL raising their connect fees:

cnnfn.com

Wall Street seems to like it, but I don't. Internet connection is basically a commodity, IMO. I use AOL solely as an ISP (forget about all the other useless fluff), but will now begin my search again for a cheaper solution. See ya AOL!
