A few points to consider...

- There's nothing out there you're likely to use that takes advantage of MMX.
- Pentium II is much better at 32-bit instructions, so you'll see most improvement in NT, not 95, which has much more legacy 16-bit.
- Bandwidth increases precede the use of said bandwidth. Therefore, you're unlikely to see dramatic gains in early AGP or UltraDMA components.

My new computer isn't tremendously faster in terms of seat-of-the-pants feel (especially on the Net). But it should be a huge difference in processor-intensive tasks, like... um... games.

This, of course, is *the* near-term problem for the industry. Not enough killer apps that also happen to be bloatware.
