That’s strange, I wonder if the reason they acted that way was due to the way they were treated by the Soviet Union for all those years of occupation?

I can imagine some resentment existed from seeing folks who tried to change things, being hauled off to Siberia for re-education, or just put in prison.

I saw a film on YouTube recently about one of the Russian Oligarchs buying a bunch of property in Crimea and improving it for tourism and such. The people in general seemed pleased with the investment in the area.

It looked like a nice area along the water.

Such a shame what’s going on now. So much potential exists for the entire region.

What a mess!
