Sweden, Finland joining NATO…all part of a move to keep Putin from having a May 9 celebration party in Moscow. Note disengagement, sort of, in Kiev so that the Russian troops can go into the Donbas and continue the encirclement of Ukrainian forces. Is destroying them on the plate for May 9? Is Putin ready to declare victory? Wipe out a goodly chunk Ukrainian forces, annex the Donbas, protect it, go home? Then have a rousing parade on May 9 in Moscow? Can’t have that. Expect a lot to happen to frustrate Putin before May 9. Will affect markets. qz.com
