Seems like yesterday smart folks were saying China's gonna invade as soon as the olympics are over.

I was unable to find any credible reports about the war for the past few days. Except, the overnight attack against central Kiev does sound as promised retaliation for “Moskva”. Also, Lira reports that the last refinery in the country has been destroyed - meaning that military maneuvers would not be easy to conduct. Also, the surrender of the 1026 Marines in 1 day sounds credible - with videos and all.

China is patient. If they are provoked, they may respond at their own time, when the moment is right. They see even a perception that their empire may be crumbling as a major threat. Taiwan is rich and seems happy. Their economy is quite integrated with mainland China. When Donald Trump applied sanctions on chips exports to China - Huawei alone was able to steal away some 50,000 engineers from Taiwan.

What’s the purpose of the congressional delegation - once again - going on a junket to Taiwan? Blow through a bunch of taxpayers money? Challenge China to invade?

Given the performance in Ukraine, I doubt China will now embark on any invasion of Taiwan.
Really? If I were Xi I would be thinking - give it another month and the West will have no ordinance to spare whatsoever. Could NATO open a second front?

Doubtful.

And that's before you consider the sheer amount of compromised officials (compromised by the Chinese).
