The excuse being lobbed around is that $53 is too low when the 52 week high was $70. Well, Twitter stock has only been $70 twice in ten years, and for very briefly. The 10 year average is around $41. Musk's offer is well over that.

The board needs to be sued by shareholders. Musk will either sell and tank the stock, or he's plotting a proxy fight and gathering other shareholders right now.
