yep, Russia just formerly declared war against Ukraine after sinking one of their ships. The gloves are off now and the dogs of war are released.

Russia now getting serious - long range bombers
There have been reports that they are running low on the land based missiles. Perhaps they are using air launched missiles because that is what they have.
