Looks like a handy solution for travellers who need to do business on the go. A keyboard and mouse are needed with that screen.

Crossover solutions from Wintel to Mac (and visa versa) look also like a way to go. I am not familiar with Macs and it looks at if "Hackingtosh" is now at the end of it's road, especially with AMD processors. So Virtual Machines (VM) looks like the solution for crossover.

As said, no experience with Macs. I noticed this article for Macs.

Best Virtual Machine (VM) Software for Mac 2022 - Parallels vs VMware - Macworld UK

Parallels Desktop 17 is drawing away from it's competitior at VMWare who look to have thrown in the towel. There is some development work going on if you wanted to dabble in that. Not something most users would be interested in imho.

For Jacks machine though VMWare is available. I use VM Workstation as it's so simple to use. There is the also the freeware version VMPlayer and its a great way to start running up your VM's. For running up a Mac on Windows, there is some ground work to do first.

Here is running up Mac on Win 11 using VMWare Workstation.

and of course, when you have VMWare Workstation you can run up all sorts of OS systems including Linux, BSD etc etc,

and if you have a Windows Back Up of an old machine, you can Virtualize it with a click or two using VMWare Converter. Hey Presto! and you have all your old stuff right there, once it did run inside of Windows.

These are the options for Jacks Machine. He should be able to get on even terms with Dad's OS soon and accelerate from there :-)
