Addi, analysts from Volpe Brown and Cruttendon Roth were also on the call asking questions. I just heard Sapiens will be at Cruttendon's upcoming growth stock conference; I do not know the date yet. Some other items from the call: the company has COMPLETED five Y2K projects; obviously these were small but it is a big plus when bidding for new projects to have references where work is finished. Also, their solution for the Euro conversion is complete and has been looked at by both potential customers and partners. Their factory capacity has been increased to 60mm LOC from 40mm.
As to mgmt. sounding defensive, the only time I got that impression was when they would not specify backlog or # of projects, saying only that it was sharply higher than last qtr.; they said that many of the contracts are of unspecified size so it is difficult to derive a $ figure. This makes sense, but a rough estimate or at least the # of projects would have helped analysts.
Hope this helps,
