Brooke Re. the "Break Up" scan. Yes, I've formulated it. That's wherre the picks came from. Re. the MACD scans ... I've concentrated on what I call the MOS (MACD OverSold) and MOB (MACD OverBought) scans. I've found the MOS signal is triggered 3 times. First, when the histogram flattens; second, when the MACD line flattens, and third, when the MACD line crosses the signal line. These signals always occur chronologically in that order. I've found that the histogram signal is an excellent predictor and trade occassionally just on it. When it is soon accompanied by the MACD flattening signal that is a confirmation. I'll get in deeper or just stay in when it occurs. When the crossover occurs, it's not too late to get in, but usually a lot of the action is over. One caveat on all of the above .... I don't use the signal at all unless the MACD line is at or near a historical extreme. It can be difficult to find issues trading in that profile, especially in a strong bull mkt. .. Fred
