I believe AOL has overestimated its pricing power. Heavy users like me will now finally overcome inertia to switch to another form of faster net access. How many of us AOL users spend 95% of our time on the net anyway? I (and others) may keep ISP access to AOL during a transition period and then, seeing little remaining value, ultimately dump them. They're keeping the $4.95/mo. price on access through the net anyway. I'm short YHOO but would imagine today's pop could be people seeing an opening for the YHOO/MCI service.

I don't think your paying the extra $2 for content. If you read the AOL release, it sounds like the costs are either greater than or growing faster than the revenues. That's why I said I think AOL might miss their quarter. And they announce this a day before earnings come out? Makes me even more confident that they're going to miss their numbers. Think I'm going to go short AOL, although it might be for a short period of time.

As for YHOO rally, well, I guess maybe the Yahoo online venture may be viewed as having more potential. But XCIT is weak for some reason today.
