You are correct; Paulus did not immediately began propaganda for the Soviets after he surrendered Stalinrad in February 1943. I could not determine when his appeals to German soldiers to stop fighting began. But begin they did.

BUT I learned that from the very first day the Russians treated him exceptionally well and had a KGB officer listening in on every word he spoke...and a transcrpt in their records exists detailing his every word.

Further, I know that the Soviets throughout the war used the statements of other captured soldiers ....and broadcast these across the lines to weaken resolve of German soldiers. AS well they should! A wartime procedure all military will use.

BUT you presented the words of this captured Ukrainian officer.... to us... that was broadcast by Russian military sources ...at face value!!

Do you think we would have learned of the words of this officer if he had shouted defiance at the Russians. (We don't know when he captured or the circumstances, possible inducements, etc.
