I don't think the majority of AOL's members are subcribing for the pure Internet access and "no frills" that 99% of ISPs provide. I think it's more about the chats and supposed content of the online community. Otherwise, these people would likely be using any one of the ISPs out there -- accessing the Net from AOL is notoriously slow. I bet they'll get away with the $2 increase with minimal churn.

I just heard on CNBC that the price target many analysts are now forcasting for AOL is in the neighborhood of $150/share.

But the mother of all stocks (AOL) rose $10 today even when there is talk of shorting it. Be careful, said the man with blood on his shirt. Blankmind, I believe, private messaged that a put is a safer play than a short. I think he has good advice.
