Do I believe them? Well, they’ve been saying the same thing for 30 years.

To me, it’s obvious why they drew their red line on Ukraine joining NATO — for exactly the same reason why JFK was ready to go to war over Soviet missiles on Cuba, almost 60 years ago.

Despite what millions of armchair strategists will tell you, having zero barrier between NATO and Russia is an extremely bad idea. Or, it’s a good idea - if someone desires confrontation. We should be afraid of that as much as the Russians. We all know that human beings have their good moments - and their crazy moments. If they face each other across a thin line in the middle of Europe - sooner or later something will go wrong.
