Most people don't communicate via talking on the phone anymore. It's texting, Facetiming, Zoom/Teams, e-mail, etc. Also, there is a lot of interactive action on Twitch. You'll find phone application usage pretty well described by generational divides, IMO. In our house, we text each other even if someone is just in the next room. It's quieter, efficient, and you can refer to it again if you need to. Just about everyone's phone everywhere is set on vibrate as well. You rarely hear ring tones anymore. Of course, it's different in a business.
