But, Pete, sometimes they show up for a time, cast aspersions (or occasional nasturtiums) and depart in flames of glory. They don't even hang around for beer and barbacoa, which IMO is highly self-preservational of them.

Of course, learning that there is no hidden significance here, that we are all really just hangin' out together, is a disappointment to some.
