I'm going to attempt an answer, if for no other reason than to be corrected if I'm wrong and adjust my understanding...you can't just randomly assign where to place X, because in order to be a valid harmonic pattern, the measurements have to be correct, hence X will be where it is.

The X point is the start of a wave, any wave. Time frame is the time frame, patterns will be much larger on larger time frames. The XA wave is the starting point for all the other fib calculations.

There is a ABCD in the right side of every 5 pattern except the shark. The ABCD will be a different fib depending on the pattern.
