My credit card used to have a great exchange rate at actual daily closing quote and no fee. I don't travel anymore, so don't know what my current card does. Guess I should check. If this Covid craziness ever calms down, I was hoping to go on the trip I was about to do back in 2020.
I keep aborting my chart reading and still haven't made it through everything yet. Short term, it's really a mixed bag. The EMAs you were talking about look like they need another couple days down. Looking back, I noticed that they often bounce and then dump again either making a double bottom or plunging less often to crash lows like 2020, 18, 08 etc. This would be great for other stuff I'm looking at.
Weekly charts and even daily channels are clearly in a down channel and have plenty of room to the downside. On earnings, MSFT and GOOGL are Tuesday and I suspect they should do okay. That could give us a bounce. AMZN is Thursday and they haven't done well the last few times so they could spark the next plunge down.

long ago in the mid '60's my first 'real' employment was at an int'l currency window in a downtown Chicago bank.
so, I'm not ignorant of foreign currency transfer.

the thing about the airport, just a one time deal.. payment for the taxi, as in Thailand, as in bahts,
the convenience is worth the few$ cost.

my usual method is still the ATM, but the tsf cost can be 4- 6% or so. I only carry few US/e$.
the savvy taxi drivers in the Balkans were most happy exchangers.
long ago, in Russia & Ukraine, the places I stayed at were most insistent.

hard currency is fluid no matter where the world.. what $ I spend probably repatriated to W.Europe or Miami.
