America Online <AOL.N> earnings unaffected by hike

DULLES, Va., Feb 9 (Reuters) - America Online Inc, the
world's largest Internet service provider, said a $2 a month
rate increase for subscribers with unlimited monthly access
will not translate into higher earnings for the company.
"The price increase basically will not drop to the bottom
line because of the increased network costs that we are
experiencing," America Online Chairman Steve Case said in an
interview with Reuters.
He declined to disclose how much revenue the rate increase
will generate for the Dulles, Va.-based company.
