The mRNA therapies were designed to mitigate serious disease, not stop it completely. I think that's one area where people get lost in reading the stats. You really have to be a virologist to properly interpret the stats. Another thing people forget about are T-Cells. They store the response to the virus and can mount an attack on the virus when the antibodies get low. Here's YLE's update from April 19: yourlocalepidemiologist.substack.com

Nobody really knows what is happening in China. There is no independent verification of anything they say about Covid cases and deaths. There is lots of independent verification, mRNA works better than killed-virus vaccines. They don’t work for long, to stop infection or re-infection. But they are very effective, longterm, at preventing hospitalization and death. I have stopped wearing a mask, when going shopping. I am OK with risking trivial symptoms. I don’t believe anything the US or Chinese governments say, unless I hear it confirmed elsewhere. Ideology doesn’t matter; all governments habitually lie.
