If you dig back I mentioned that CCUR's VoD offerings were mid-range and meant for areas like hotels vs cable plants. And low and behold that is where they are finding interest. Cable head-ends need upwards to a 10,000 stream server to feed a 30,000 viewer network (remember, it is possible to have several streams into each home active). CCURs offering does not scale that high without replicating "content" which makes it tough to compete with larger machines that can serve all 10000 viewers with only one copy of any menu selection. Each of the viewers can interact with their stream and be unaware that others are also watching the same selection.

My prior posts stated my position that CCUR has the best mid-range solution and that the mid-range has the highest quantities of servers (there are 1000's of hotels and only hundreds of cable plants). The cable plant approach is clearly a tougher problem as the line lengths are old, diverse, and long, and you have to deal with "home" economies (Block buster model of $1/movie). Contrasted to Hotels and Business expense accounts, the technical and economic situations are greatly eased. Once CCUR gets entrenched in Hotels they will have at least 5 years of solid contracts to ride until cable companies tunnel their solutions into hotels as extensions of their main distribution runs. CCUR has a great situation, so let's all enjoy the ride!
