That's funny, that affirmative action hire Austin would have the same strategy for Russia as Russia has for USA =
On Monday the hugely provocative words of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin are being widely reported wherein he said just after his trip to Kiev where alongside Secretary Blinken he met President Zelensky face-to-face that Washington has an aim to weaken Russia.

A few megatons here and there should weaken USA. In good tit for tat principle with escalation of quadratic function if not exponential, parabolic, or hyperbolic hyperbole, let alone asymptotic, then USA should be very greatly weakened with each delivered kiloton, megaton and then gigaton.

Some more intelligent people than Lloyd Austin could figure out that attacking a bear, poking it in the eye and stabbing it in the leg to weaken it is a bad idea.

In this game of chicken, started by USA, continued by USA and now accelerated by USA, with the vehicles heading on head on collision course, at high speed, Putin has thrown the steering wheel out the window.

Your move Austin, Biden, Blinken and co. Who will Blinken first?

Russia no longer has a steering wheel so their course and speed is assured. USA can carry on to full high speed collision, with 2,000 megatons of mirved, icbm ready to create world record history in a short time.

Or they could blink, swerve to avoid collision, call for an end to conflict and agree to tea, scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam and some fun rounds of golf in Crimea now that summer is approaching, if not as fast as the megatonnage if sense does not prevail.

Lavrov and Putin and co have tried talking to Americans. Americans don't have a listen function. Similarly, China tried to have a discussion with Blinken and co and it was a joke.

It seems that the only answer is to weaken USA to such an extent that they call for a truce. Maybe Russia can keep ramping up conventional attacks to make USA and Zelensky and Euroserfs realize that it would have been much more sensible to have a Scottish referendum in Donetsk and Luhansk, along with a Brexit vote for Crimea and throw in Mariupol. But the bosses in Bruxelles, Londonistan and Kiev love murdering people into submission so there was no Brexit vote, or Scottish independence vote for eastern Ukrainians or Crimeans. Yet democracy is supposed to be a good thing in freedom-loving Washington and Londonistan and Bruxelles. But not for Ukrainians apparently = not those in the east anyway.
