Arun, you surely know that if you go back 100, 1000, 10,000 100,000 years, the Malthusian facts of human reproduction and tribal methods of survival were increasingly chimplike. What was great about VVV was the vast paradigm shift away from tribal cannibalism to the amazing life enjoyed by billions. The wars of choice by USA in recent decades are not due to that Malthusian impetus. I don't have sudden "empathy" for Russia. Like most people, you are misusing the empathy word. The correct word is sympathy. But you are wrong in that too as I don't have particular sympathy for Russia. Using the word empathy is a virtue signalling usage of recent years or maybe decades. Amusingly, people write "empathetic " when they mean empathic. That's pathetic! The reason for my greater concern about the war on Russia than the many other wars around the world is that a MAD nuclear war would end my life and a lot more besides. It's not sympathy for Russians. I think the reason we'll end up in MAD is that you (and people generally) don't WANT to understand. I read a lot and the desire to not want to understand is general. It's not "can't understand". Your motive is to denigrate England. To dehumanise Putin. Etc etc etc.... not to figure things out. Haim blathers on about scripture and irrelevancies from many decades ago = "so let's attack Russia". He is like Zbig. I am very accustomed to the process and have dealt with it all my life. Since you, and most Yanks, and others, don't have an understand and off-switch, I expect MAD as the outcome. C'est la vie. The good thing is that you, sense, Haim etc etc will fry alive like the rest of us. 100 years ago the war mania meant men had to travel far to Ypres etc for their horrible deaths. Thanks to the advances of many talented engineers and scientists you'll be able to do it comfortably, along with your family in your own home. Heck, you might even be able to watch some, live, then dead, on TV, thanks to Qualcomm and mobile Cyberspace cameras everywhere. Affirmative action Austin wants to weaken Russia so they'll never be able to defend themselves again. Being a military genius, unlike Austin, I'm happy to explain to him that Russia will weaken USA so they can never again attack. Mqurice
