Maybe Boris and I agree for once in his life Meanwhile, Mr Johnson has said he does not expect Russia to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, even if President Vladimir Putin suffered more military failures there.

Russia is more likely to use nuclear weapons at the head of the snake, namely 10 Downing Street, rather than downtown Kiev which is sort of Russian. How small is a little nuke? Heck as small as 10 tons to 1 kiloton of TNT equivalent. That's just a good IRA type bomb.
en.wikipedia.org.

That would remove 10 Downing Street while leaving Buckingham Palace intact. The IRA bombed Thatcher and co at Brighton in a big bomb. It would be understandable if Vladimir gave Boris a taste of what Boris is handing out. USA was considering droning Julian right there in London, so it's thinkable to do such things, apparently. Also, Russia has demonstrated polonium 210 in tea and novichok in undies and on door handles, so there are potential downtown Londonistan problems that can be delivered. Imagine a bit of polonium 210 in the water supply! Or aerosol in an underground station. Things really can get horrible if murdering scales up. Which it is doing.

A very quick agreement as I laid out is the sensible answer and the sooner the better because every hour and minute bring more damage and horrors.

LOL !!!

The Russian government has accused the UK of "provoking" Ukraine into attacking Russian territory.

Yeah. It has nothing at all to do with Russia "provoking" Ukraine... by Russia launching a war that has had THEM attacking Ukraine.. for how long, now ? Destroying its cities... killing its citizens... and seeking, still, to TAKE parts of the country for themselves... as they have done with other neighbors ?... Now, apparently, they're expanding the effort underway to include trying to take parts of Moldova ?

Maybe launching a war... was all the provocation it took... for Ukraine to realize that... in a WAR... you attack your enemies... as they attack you... ?

Russia seems to want to make up new rules for war... in which only Russia gets to attack others ?

The parallel universe that Russians apparently choose to believe they live in... insulating them from the reality of their own choices... ? That must be one powerful drug they're taking... to induce delusions on the scale we see...

In result of far exceeding any rational justification for his choices... Putin has isolated himself not only from the rest of the thinking world... but from reason itself...

I have about as little respect as it is possible to have... for Biden and his crew...

But, Putin... got outplayed by those morons... and doesn't have the sense to recognize it... or, adjust ?

While, at the same time... he's succeeding primarily in exposing himself as just another liar and a thug... of the early 20th century variety... who is failing to grasp... (as all of them, apparently) that this is not the early 20th century... and no one is buying that crap any more....

Or, the "adjustments" he's made are even more dysfunctional and detached from reality and reason than the original decision making has proven itself to be... ? Once the military was engaged... thinking ended.

There is a lot that Putin might have won... that had actual value... if he'd addressed it with a different approach...

But, by going the route he has... Putin has discredited his own legitimate interests and concerns... and lost the ability to assert them credibly...

Those hoping to find a champion who would be able to stand up for those interests and concerns...

Will have to keep looking...

Those who believed Putin might have been that... instead of the idiot and thug he is proving himself to be... will have to re-examine their critical thinking skills...

It still leaves me thinking... the only path that exists to follow... in which things do not continue to get worse ( including more for Russia than others) ... is that path on which Russians decide they should "declare victory" and remove themselves from neighbors yards... and go back to Russia...

Of course, I'm not seeing a snow balls chance in hell of that happening...

Putin has already lost his war... not because of any others actions... not because of Ukraine... not because of NATO or any one or number of NATO countries... but only due to Russia's own failure to comprehend their own capacities, and their own limits...

Sun Tzu would note is as necessary to "know yourself"... while what I'm saying, in much of mine above, is that Russia's behavior today... shows they lack basic self awareness... and lack a normal ability to consider how others are likely to respond to them as they... choose to act as they have. But, its demonstrably proven as also true of Russians self evaluation... observed in the purely military context... in their poor performance on the battle field...

In essence, the only war Russia appears capable of winning... is one in which no one decides to fight back

Or one in which the purpose of an opponent in engaging... is due to intending to lose...

But, Russia's performance... or Ukraine's... makes it not credible to lose to them ?

There's probably not anyone left out there now, that will be willing to be bullied that way... as in the past ?

Putin seems likely incapable now of managing his own survival, were he to do what is clearly necessary in "reconsidering" the choices made...

But, there's no advantage for anyone in that... as whatever follows Putin is likely to be "worse"...

Likely very soon reaching limits at which "the genie cannot be stuffed back in the bottle"...
