memory lane walk: with a quick Google search of 1972 Chevy Nova SS, I found this video -

youtu.be

mine was an SS, and if memory serves I bought the new Nova in April 1972 for a little over $3,000 incl registration fees and sales tax ... custom ordered it from a local Chevy dealer located in rural "unpopulated land" ... factory order because I chose a specific interior & exterior color combo and wanted a few other special items installed at the factory

self-employment income earned during my teen years paid for this, and had $'s remaining for heading out to adult land ...

had just returned from some of my high school years in
Foreign Study program and living with a French family in Narbonne, France

the Nova was great ... some time down the road the next car purchase was a Plymouth Duster
5-door hatchback with white racing stripes and fold down flat rear seating ....
had lots of adventures in both the Nova and the Duster ...

paying cash for all my vehicle purchases started at a young age

and having the balance of practicality and fun is definitely a learned habit

Duster with vinyl roof like I also enjoyed -
