[DSLcon in San Jose]
Thanks for the list of conferences. Another you may want to put on your calendar is this upcoming DSL show/conference in San Jose. Ascend is among the exhibitors.
DSL con '98 ~ West Digital Subscriber Line conference and exhibition March 9th ~ 12th, 1998 ~ Wyndham Hotel San Jose, California - USA
Now a conference and exhibition devoted specifically and exclusively to DSL, as the telecom industry, in the words of one analyst, works to "turn copper into gold".
DSLcon is designed to help in that quest, bringing together equipment vendors, service providers and end-users/early adopters. In short, DSLcon will address the technology and application options and challenges necessary to bring this bandwidth enhancement to fruition.
Details on this marketing opportunity can be found in About DSLcon'98. Exhibit space will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, and will also establish the Priority Assignment List for future DSLcons.
We look forward to welcoming you as a member of the DSLcon "exhibitor family", and if, in the meantime, you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to call me or our Director of Sales, Stephanie Durocher at 972-580-1900.
Cordially,
Bill Weber, General Manager
What is DSLcon?
DSLcon is a focused conference with complementing exhibits, concentrating on what is becoming the most exciting technological advancement in widening the telecommunications bandwidth in decades, the Digital Subscriber Line.
Dataquest has projected that DSL-related equipment sales are to exceed 1.4 billion by the year 2000. DSLcon will bring together, for the first time, the three contributors who will be responsible for this rapid growth - the equipment suppliers, the carriers, and especially the end users. DSLcon will provide the ideal environment for these three to address the challenges faced by these early adopters, the available technology options, and the various approaches being prepared to rapidly and efficiently provide DSL Service.
Why DSLcon?
With the rapid advances in telephony, the explosion of data connectivity, and the lightning growth of the Internet, it is only logical that there would be confusion in the telecom industry. Fierce competition between various approaches to the inherent problems (eg. ISDN, ATM, Frame Relay, and the newest hope for data voice convergence: DSL) plus the lack of adequate standards, all point to the need for a conference focused very specifically on DSL and all of its versions. Particularly since DSL can be the premier solution to the Broadband data access marketplace, utilizing existing telecommunications infrastructure (700 million phone lines worldwide), a DSL conference with relevant exhibits gives equipment vendors, service providers, and the end-users (especially early adopters) the opportunity to discuss and develop approaches which will provide affordable high speed transmission.
Who Should Attend DSLcon?
Hardware Designers, Software Developers, Telecom Managers, System and Network Integrators, Network Managers, Consultants, System Engineers, Telecom Engineers, Market Analysts, Test Engineers, Marketing Engineers, Engineering Managers, Telecommunications Providers (including CLECs, CAPs, ISPs, IXCs, and ILECs), CIOs, Software Providers, OEM's, VAR's, Network Service Providers, Distributors, Military and Government Representatives, Research Engineers
