In the 90's worked on the RR Where it runs through the forests North of the Great Lakes . No roads highway 70 miles to the south . The grouse chicks when you walked on an old trail would come out of the bush and cluster about your feet . Part of their evolution history might be that 2 legged critters are cuddely .

With young around every critter in the woods/water would come after you .
