My objective in this little mind experiment is to settle once and for all whether a steal happened. That would be a very big deal if it could happen. Not that there wouldn't those be among those living in the alternate universe who would still believe that it didn't happen, but at least there would be something solid to fall back on. My approach is based on the expectation that nothing much would be found and there would be innocent explanations for the myriad claims still out there.

So, yes, it's possible that some Trumpy authorities might do that. But it would get public attention, which should mitigate it. And attract those who would help someone victimized in that way.
