It makes 'sense' in a child's cliche/slogan way of looking at things . Exactly. It simplifies it... to an irrefutable point of truth... that's so simple even a child easily understands it... At least, in the west... where even children are keenly aware of the behavior patterns of bullies... Which however, leaves you still pretending that we should... not notice the obvious... and allow as a truth, instead, that "a deeper understanding of the complexity" will reverse the meaning... I'm not unaware of the complexity... but, no element in it obviates the basic fact... that Russia is INTENT on finding reasons for justifying themselves being on the wrong side of its own borders... The sophism of assuming you can say one thing to one group of people... and another thing to another group... and expect no one will notice the one proving intent... obviates the other posturing excuses ? But... it doesn't work. The complexity that exists, at its worst, ensures we can easily enough discover "there are no good guys"... which does nothing to alter the fact that not all bad guys are equally bad... even as some manage to constrain themselves to being bad only inside their own countries, and not others... So, a panoply of false arguments presented, each trying to make the Russians into the aggrieved party, to justify them as the long suffering and blameless victims, first, in an effort seeking to excuse their predatory behavior... perhaps fully explains the nature of Russian psychopathy... Only... the sheep they'd planned as the lunch menu... weren't supposed to notice the wolf... or fight back ? The Russian effort... as the Russian argument... is ham-fisted... and fools no one... The wolf, it turns out, was a toothless old sadsack of a wolf... but the sheep, it turns out, weren't sheep ? And, yes, you can bluster on about being victimized by others ignoring your arguments advocating that being inside Ukraine, attacking Ukraine, somehow makes you the victims of Ukrainian aggression... But, its obvious bullshit and no one is buying it... And, its irrelevant in any case... as the blunder made has already been committed to... ? That Russia is being used... and made others pawn... seems true enough to me... But, having eagerly volunteered for that role... it engenders little sympathy among thinking people... when Putin proceeds in "problem solving" (Youtube link)
