I'm already amazed at what's been done with self-driving vehicles. We're struggling to keep our cellphones going here - planned obsolescence. We cut the cord on land line - maybe too early. I use a Garmin InReach mini in the summer. It has problems getting satellites sometimes. I don't see how a self-driving car could work around so many mountains and trees and clouds. Then add in electric heat in winter - big battery drain. Not to mention the snow covering the lane lines. I'm stunned and amazed that such a thing as self-driving vehicles exists already. Watching those rocket boosters land back on their pads is almost too much. Now they're going to try to land them back in the arms of the launch tower assembly.

My job was in redundant control fail-safes - municipal, industrial large continuously operating systems, communicating failures to operators in real time to try to prevent any downtime. Every time a major improvement in technology comes up, it is slowly worked in to keep everything running. If we were lucky, we'd get a big customer that had a new project who wanted to use the new stuff. But we'd have to learn it all over again. Usually it was fairly similar and familiar - just more options. You get to a point where there's almost too many options - then you get different styles with different people. Hard to jump into someone else's "style" of thought if you're troubleshooting.

Those are nice coins. My FIL collects different gold coins, but not a lot - too expensive. I collect jade. It has no fixed value. Eye of the beholder.

My friend went to Cabo. I never did. My sister went there a few times too. Once they had a hurricane while she was there and a lot of roads washed out. I went on an excursion to San Blas. That was interesting. A very old Spanish town - established in the 1500s. We went on a short river boat trip to a fresh water spring swimming spot there. On the way, they told us that the movie Predator had partly been filmed there.

That baja car looks like fun. I couldn't figure out the stick shift. Automatic, I'm guessing.

I collect those coins, too. They’re beautiful.

Gold Centenarios, too.
