Things could get uglier then, as the Fed starts QT of 100 billion a month in May and fast rate hikes. We had first quarter of negative real GDP growth, so recession probably started. No way we don’t have another quarter of negative real GDP growth if the record tightening persists with Europe and Japan still in easy mode (read USD strength and more trade deficit contributing to GDP fall). Why are banks falling? Are they levered in the wrong direction? 2008 would not surprise me, or worse. Should cure inflation problem -g- if we don’t get nuked that is, then we won’t even care. TPTB should de-escalate with Russia. I know they think Putin is the Devil, but he is an “elected” President with 80% support inside Russia currently, and the fraction we are supporting in Ukraine IS the neo-Nazi fraction. He has the tools to nuke us into a desert.
